MPN Horizons 2016

The first global conference for MPN Patient Advocates was held from November 11th – 13th 2016 in Belgrade, Serbia. Patient advocates attended from Australia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Finland,  Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden,  Switzerland, the UK, and the USA.

The event consisted of over 20 talks, covering updates on MPN Research, current and emerging therapies, symptom management and a variety of advocacy and support topics.

The conference was also a unique opportunity for MPN Patient Representatives and Advocates to meet, discuss the issues facing MPN patients around the world and to share best practices from local groups.

The event ran concurrently with CLL Horizons, a parallel conference for advocates and representatives of patients with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL). CLL is a different form of blood cancer but patients with CLL face many of the same challenges as those with an MPN. Many of the advocacy sessions were common to the two conferences, maximizing the opportunities for delegates to share information and gain insights from each other.

Videos and slides from the presentations are available here.
